General Recommendations
Big Grip dead ends are recommended for stay/guy terminations on transmission tower, antenna and other types of heavy duty construction. They are suitable for attachment at both top and bottom of stays and also at stay insulators. Single and multiple stays can be terminated.
Material used
Big-Grip dead-ends are made of material compatible with the strand to which they are applied
Application and inspection
Ensure the correct size fitting is used. For detailed method of installation refer to application instructions. Big Grip dead-ends must only be used on the size and type of strand for which they are designed. Big Grip dead-ends should not be re-used after original installation
Production Characteristics
- Cross-over marks: indicate starting point for application
- Color code: assists in identification of strands size.
- Identification label: Shows catalogue number and strand diameter range.
- Lay direction: Must be same as that of the outer layer of the strand to which it is applied
